Privacy Policy

Antenna News Foundation (“Antenna,” “we,” “us”) operates the Antenna News mobile apps and antenna.news. This policy explains what information touches our systems, what we do not do, and your choices. Please read it alongside Apple’s ecosystem disclosures (including App Tracking Transparency where applicable).

In short

  • We do not sell your personal information. We do not run behavioral advertising or combine your reading activity into an advertising profile.
  • We do not embed third-party analytics or crash-reporting SDKs in the app to track you across apps or websites.
  • You can use Antenna News to follow RSS feeds without signing in for that core reader experience (subject to availability of curated catalog data).
  • Creating an optional account—for example to participate in shared or published feeds—is voluntary and uses authentication data as described below.

What we do not collect for tracking

We design Antenna News so we are not building a dossier about what you read for marketing. We do not use your reading history to target ads, profile you for sale to data brokers, or fingerprint your device across unrelated apps. If Apple features you opt into (such as diagnostics) transmit data to Apple, that processing is governed by Apple’s privacy policy, not this one.

Information stored on your device

Subscriptions you add, fetched articles or summaries, favorites, app settings, and related reader state are largely stored locally on your device unless a feature expressly syncs via your account or our services. Local data persists according to system backup and uninstall behavior on your phone or tablet.

Feed content and publishers you choose

When you subscribe to RSS or similar sources, your device retrieves content directly from publishers or intermediaries according to URLs you select. Those servers may observe technical data routinely sent when any client requests a web resource (such as internet protocol addresses and timing). Antenna cannot control publishers’ logs or privacy practices; review notices on sites you subscribe to where available.

Optional account (Supabase Auth)

Some features—for example discovering or syncing community feeds—may require an account created through our authentication backend (Supabase). When you sign up or sign in, we process information you provide (typically an email address, password or provider token, and profile metadata such as a display name needed to operate accounts).

That information is processed to authenticate you and provide the features you request. Hosting and processing may occur in jurisdictions where our service providers operate. Supabase publishes its own terms and privacy materials at supabase.com/privacy. You may request account deletion consistent with retention we need for legal or security purposes by emailing hello@antenna.news.

Optional assistant features

If you use conversational or discovery tools routed through Antenna-operated servers, the prompts and contextual text you submit are transmitted only to provide that response—not for advertising personalization. Inference may rely on infrastructure and model providers appointed by Antenna subject to contractual obligations; prompts should not contain information you cannot share.

This website (antenna.news)

Our marketing pages are informational. We do not use behavioral advertising cookies on this property. Routine hosting and CDN providers may temporarily process connection metadata (such as timestamps, approximate region, browser type) for security or reliability—we do not use that routing data to advertise to you personally.

Children

Antenna News is intended for general audiences who can lawfully consent in their jurisdiction. If you believe we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under 13—or under the higher age required where you live—contact us so we can delete it promptly where required by law.

International users

Readers outside the United States should expect that processors may be located in the United States or other countries whose laws differ from yours. Where regulations such as GDPR or UK GDPR grant rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, or objection for certain processing, you may exercise them consistent with eligibility by emailing hello@antenna.news. You may lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority.

California residents

Depending on applicability of the California Consumer Privacy Act (“CCPA”) / California Privacy Rights Act (“CPRA”), you may request to know categories of personal information we collect, deletion, correction, and information about certain disclosures. Because we do not sell personal information for monetary consideration within the meanings those laws ascribe to “sell,” we do not offer opt-out-for-sale mechanics applicable to browsing data. Verified requests can be emailed to hello@antenna.news.

Security and retention

We use administrative and technical measures appropriate for a volunteer-led open-source project communicating over modern TLS channels. Credentials are never stored in plaintext in logs we intend to harvest for marketing—which we don’t operate.

Account-related records are retained only as long as needed to provide features, meet legal obligations, or resolve disputes, after which identifiable data should be deleted or aggregated where deletion is technically impractical.

Changes

We may revise this Privacy Policy periodically. Updates will replace the earlier version on this page with a refreshed effective date. Material changes affecting data use will be called out reasonably (for instance in release notes).
